Delivered by: Xiaoke Ye, Cass Business School, London

Course Overview

The course will be taught in Chinese (Mandarin), all masteries and handouts are written in English.

Stata is one of the most commonly used software in disciplines such as Economics, Criminology, Epidemiology.

The course will provide audience with an introduction to the popular and powerful statistical and data management software Stata with a clear applied focus. I will provide a comprehensive overview on Stata, and introduce the basic operation in Stata.

Each session briefly introduces the practical use of the data management techniques. I will illustrate the command covered by using Stata sample dataset By the end of two-day online course, audience will be self-sufficient and able to explore Stata further by themselves in future.

Course Agenda

This comprehensive webinar is hosted through Zoom and runs over a total of 9 hours, with 4 hours each day (2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon) with an extra Q&A session on the second day.

The second class will guide you how to manage data and run regression, we will cover

  • How to manage a dataset in Stata
  • Merging and appending datasets
  • Reshaping data
  • Generating and Change variables
  • Where to find additional resources in Stata
  • The commands needed to perform simple statistical analyses in Stata
  • More advanced dataset operation by using user-written code.

Day 2:

Session 3: 10:00-12:00 GMT

Section 3: In the third class, you will learn how to conveniently export your regression output
