Timberlake Portugal and Cemapre (ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management, University of Lisbon) are jointly organizing this training course. The Structural Equation Models course aims to provide the full set of tools and techniques that any modern applied economist needs to know about this subject. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of modern econometrics and will also learn how to apply the techniques properly using the software Stata.
The course will take place at ISEG U. Lisboa, located in the center of Lisbon, in November 2018.

A Structural equation model is a framework that provides elegant and relatively easy-to-use methods to deal with questions of causality. These include multi-level random effects, endogeneity, sample selection and missing data.Recent versions of Stata include implementations of these methods. This course introduces the theory of SEM and shows how to apply the theory using Stata. The subjects forming this training course are:
Academic Staff, Masters / PHD students and professionals that need to analyses data. It aims to offer an effective way to reach an advanced level of econometric analysis. Therefore, in order to get the most out of the course, basic knowledge of statistics and econometrics is required. The course will be taught in English.
