You can download a free demo copy of Stat/Transfer. You will get a complete, functioning copy, except that one out of about every sixteen cases will not be transferred. The complete manual can be downloaded as a PDF file.and, is also included in the online help file .
When you decide to purchase Stat/Transfer, as soon as your order is processed we will send you an activation by e-mail that will activate your copy and allow you transfer all of your cases. We will also, if you wish, ship a Quick Start manual and a CD.
Download a Maintenance Release of Stat/TransferWe periodically post maintenance releases of Stat/Transfer on our Web site to support new file formats, add features, or to fix problems that have come to our attention.
If you already own Stat/Transfer, you should check to see if we have made any changes or improvements. Maintenance releases are posted for Versions 9 and 10. You can download these maintenance releases for free.

Automatic Downloads of Windows Maintenance Versions
We have found that many people are not taking advantage of the maintenance releases, so that they are using software that is older than it should be. To address this problem, after Stat/Transfer for Windows is installed, it will automatically check the Web for updates.
By default, the program will check for new versions once every month, but you can change this option. You can check immediately, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or (if you are running on a computer that is not connected to the Web) never.
In order to change the interval at which Stat/Transfer checks the Web, after you open the program, click on the About tab and select one of the options.
If you wish, you can tell Stat/Transfer to do an immediate check for a newer version rather than wait for an automatic check. To do so, go to the About tab and select Right Now. Then exit from Stat/Transfer. When you restart Stat/Transfer, the update program will check our Web site for updates as described above.
Suppose you choose Every Month (the default). Each time you start Stat/Transfer, the program will compare the current date to the date at which the version was last checked. If it the difference is less than thirty days, nothing will happen. If it is 30 days or more, the program will ask you if you would like to check the Web.
If you choose to do so, the program will check our Web site for the latest version. If it finds a version that is newer than yours, it will download a descriptive file for you to read. You can then choose whether of not to download the latest release (these are generally quite small — less than 800K). If you choose to do so, it will be installed on your computer.
The READ-ME file will also be downloaded, so that you can check back to see what new features have been added.
Windows Download Instructions
After you press the Download button below, a File Download box will appear in your browser and ask you if you want to Save or Open the file stdemo.exe. You can do either.
If you choose to save the file, put it in any temporary directory and then install the Stat/Transfer demo by clicking on stdemo.exe from the Windows Explorer or by opening a Run dialog box from the Start menu and typing in the file name stdemo.exe.
If you choose to open the file, your browser will store it to a temporary directory and then run it for you.
During installation, the Install program will prompt you for a destination directory before it moves any files. You can choose the directory into which Stat/Transfer will be installed as well as choosing several classes of optional components, such as ODBC and Access support. When you are done, an icon for Stat/Transfer will be on your desktop and a new program group will be available on your Start Menu.

To run Stat/Transfer, click your desktop icon or click on StatTransfer on the Start Menu. The complete Stat/Transfer manual is available in the online help files, which you can reach by pressing the Help button from any of the tabs or by pressing F2.
After you press the Download button below, the disk image icon for the file stdemo.dmg will appear on your desktop. Click on this icon and a new icon for st_installer will appear on your desktop. Click on the st_intstaller icon, This will run the Installer.
You will be prompted to enter the name and password of a user on your computer with administrative privileges.
Then select Easy Install. This will copy Stat/Transfer to your Applications folder and create a StatTransfer icon on your desktop. The demo files will be in your Documents folder in a subfolder named StatTransfer 10.

To run Stat/Transfer, navigate to the Applications foler and then to the StatTransfer10 folder. Then click on The complete Stat/Transfer manual is available in the online help files, which you can reach by pressing the Help button from any of the tabs or by pressing F2. It is also available as a PDF file that is installed in the Stat/Transfer folder.
Depending upon your hardware and software, click either the 64 or 32 bit version of the installer below. Save the installer in a temporary directory and execute it. By default, Stat/Transfer will be installed into a subdirectory (stattrransfer10_32 or stattransfer10_64) under your home directory. If you want to install it to another directory, you may need root privileges. To change the directory to one other than the default, click on Browse and then navigate to the directory.
