Some software developers offer special prices or specific implementations of the packages to students. Special deals for students are described below. In order to purchase student copies, you have to provide proof that you are a student.

Software Packages by Alphabetic Order

EViews 6 Student by QMS - a reduced price, limited feature version of EViews 6 Standard Edition. The EViews 6 Student Version package includes a 16-page Student Version getting started booklet, and a CD-ROM containing the Student Version program, the HTML-based help system, PDF copies of the full three-volume set of manuals for EViews 6, and PDF files containing the first three chapters of EViews Illustrated, a primer to the EViews program, written by Richard Startz, professor of Economics at the University of Washington. The three sample chapters of EViews Illustrated offer a step-by-step guide to the EViews program, walking you through the basics of EViews from launching the program, to importing existing data, to the basics of regression estimation.

Gauss Light by Aptech Systems - Cut down version of Gauss with restrictions on size of datasets (a matrix language suitable for performing quick calculations or complex analyses. Gauss Applications complement Gauss by offering users Gauss programs that implement specific analyses (e.g. Constrained Maximum Likelihood). Price: £25 + shipping + taxes (if applicable)

Mathematica for Students by Wolfram Research - this is a special edition of Mathematica. The software is fully featured but does not include the full documentation. Price: £85 + shipping + taxes (if applicable)

OxMetrics by Timberlake Consultants Limited - There are student prices for four of the OxMetrics modules (PcGive Professional, STAMP, Ox Professional and TSP/GiveWin). These are full versions of the software with, in some cases, reduced documentation. Price information is available on the OxMetrics Web.
